Controlling behavior is a power(ful) tool
We shouldn’t judge AI tools without the context of the toolmen that make them. People often say that AI is just a tool. the question we should ask is, a tool for whom exactly?
When technocrats are eager to introduce AI to our children, our students and every aspect of our govt and society…we should question why.
Is it truly altruism as they claim? These same toolmen who worship Ayn Rand and her philosophy of selfishness? Or is it more likely that it is extreme self-interest, narcissism and obsession with transhumanism? Techno-optimists that do not care about safety, society or the ills their technology may bring.
If you control the interface by which people get information and you can dynamically change its answers, you have a power tool. If that machine is also extremely persuasive and addictive, you have a power(ful) behavior tool. If this same tool has permission to devour all existing human works without consent to then use them for profit, you have a colonization and exploitation tool. AI might be a tool, but one more similar to a weapon, than a productivity product.
